At the second workshop at BCU in December we saw a successful collaboration between 2 of our schools- Erdington Academy and Halesowen College. They have created a digital cultural calendar to show significant dates for each of the cultures/language groups they have in their schools. A cultural calendar can be made using a google email account. It could be used in lots of different ways. For example, it could be used as a parent/child activity to decide on the dates/events to include; it could be displayed throughout the school; or displayed in the school reception as part of building a culture of welcome to newly arrived families.
